Property taxes have become one of the most discussed issues across Nebraska. Homeowners, agricultural producers, retirees, and business owners frequently cite property taxes as one of their largest annual expenses.

Property taxes are Nebraskans’ number one issue, and they need to be fixed.
While property taxes are not collected or assessed by the state, the State of Nebraska has invested nearly $1.7 billion in property tax relief through state-funded property tax credits, homestead exemptions, and support for Nebraska’s community colleges.
Despite these efforts, local spending and property tax collections have continued to increase and have outpaced the state's investment in relief.
I want to hear your story. Some members of the Legislature do not take this issue as seriously as they should. Some have even proposed eliminating existing property tax credits that provide relief to taxpayers like you.
I need your help to ensure the Legislature understands how important this issue is so we can work together to solve this crisis.
